Digital Footprint - Arielle's Awesome Page
A digital footprint is everywhere you've been on the Internet. No matter what you do, or what you delete, it can always be tracked back to your computer! So always be aware of what you do on the Internet, because when you start looking for a job, people will go online and look for your blog pages, Facebook, and anywhere else they could find information about you! So don't post things, or go on things that you wouldn't want anyone else to see.
If someone saw all the websites I went on, and everything I've done, I wouldn't be scared or anything like that, because I know that I haven't gotten on anything I'm not supposed to. Same with the websites I've been on. I haven't put anything that's going to come back to haunt me!
I did an activity called  The Way Back Machine. I searched a website, and the website that I searched was Google. I could go all the way back to 1996, but 1998 was the first year that The Way Back Machine stored information on Google. The Way Back Machine could affect what I do online because now I know that people can track whatever I do! It's kind of cool, but then again scary, because everyone can know what I do.
I think that college admissions officers and potential employers view a person's online profile/behavior because they want to know what kind of person they're hiring, or letting go to that college. It lets everyone know what kind of person you are!
