Data collection is when you collect data. People collect data to see what people think about different things. If you don't collect data you won't be able to get the right information. It's  beneficial to put your information in a graph, because then you can see everything in one sheet, and see if it's less or more, and when that happened.
    Some reasons that people collect data could be the stats for a sports game, to see your cell phone bill, check your grades, and even to find your best mile time! Collecting data happens more often than you think.
    Above is a graph that I make while collecting data about a lemonade stand game. The line shows the balance at the end of every day. I didn't try changing the recipe, which I probably could have done, and it might have changed the data I collected. On hot days, putting a lot of ice in it helped. If I were to do this again, I would probably try to change the recipe. The days that it was more rainy, less people bought, and the more sunny, hot days, almost everyone wanted lemonade!
